How You Will Contribute
The Graphic Designer works as a team with fellow designers, clients, editors, and a production manager under the direction of the museum’s Design Director to meet the museum’s goals of enhancing the visitor experience while maintaining brand identity. The Graphic Designer creates, presents, and produces creative solutions to achieve these goals. They manage many projects simultaneously from concept through completion, including print designs for publications, designs for museum way finding, exhibition design and graphics, and installations, digital communications for applications, and internal graphic identity materials. This position receives close direction from the Senior Graphic Designer and Design Director.
Specifically, you will:
Manage many projects simultaneously from concept through completion, including but not limited to the following:
Print designs for ads, exhibit catalogues, brochures, fund-raising publications, newsletters, and invitations
Designs for special exhibitions, installations, and permanent collection rotations
Digital communications and animations for applications such as the museum’s website, e-mails, web ads, and digital invites
Way finding/environmental, donor recognition, and temporary signage
Internal graphic identity materials
Responsible for the creation of digital touch points and social media graphics
Research new digital and print vendors when necessary, obtaining pricing, facilitating approval of budget and graphics, preparing mech files
Oversee outside vendors for delivery and installation
